CREATIVE FRIENDS: MARIE FROM GLASWAAR
Honest Fashion
I’m introducing you Marie from Glaswaar. Her personal style is casual and at the same time edgy. She always succeeds in finding eye catchers that finish her look on a subtle level (mind the long bombe and the transparant glasses).
Down below you can read the questions I asked her about her label Glaswaar, a jewellery label existing out of rings, earrings, hangers and bracelets.
When did you start your label and why?
I started in December 2010. My mother had finished a workshop about making glass jewellery and I thought it was so awesome, I bought all the stuff to make the jewellery and I learned myself how to make everything. This hobby grew into Glaswaar.
What would you like to achieve?
I would like to keep doing this on the side and in the future learn how to work with silver and gold so I can produce everything from start to finish.
Does architecture have an influence on your work?
I mostly work with abstract forms and basic colours. Before I studied architecture I worked a lot with flowers and colours that I mixed. Now everything is much more simpler. Less is more.
What’s your personal favourite from your collection(s)?
The Jewellery I’m wearing in the pictures, they are made with different kinds of silver leaf between the glass creating interesting effects when the glass gets heated.
