On to the next.
Honest Fashion
2016 kinda was a blur. I changed jobs for the better and before I knew it the year was over again. New Year’s left me quite apathetic: nothing to really celebrate, nothing to really say goodbye to, not really anything new in foresight yet.
If this teaches me something, it’s that I’m too young to feel like that. ‘They’ say we are a selfish generation that never has enough, well I definitely want to be a part of that as well. In 2017 I will be more selfish, I will reach for more, work harder and relax intenser.
At 25 with no responsibility but taking care of myself I’m not ready to be settled for life. I want to see the world and balance work with the right amount of spare time activities. Time for learning, travelling, starting a business, cooking, reading and so on. We will have to work for a extremely long time so there’s no point in being rushed.
Also I want to choose even more for things that make me happy, only me and no one else. Like this red hoodie for example, not so sweatshop free and not so ethical but oh so comfortable and works magic on bad days. Same goes for the jeans. Great fit, confidence boosting but I probably don’t want to know how it’s made.
That’s bad, I know. But most of all 2016 was hard. It was emotionally crushing me, made me long for Antwerp daily and washed my self confidence down the drain. Part of picking myself up was not restricting myself for a change and just instintively choosing happiness. If a sweater helps with that, we are all down right?
Balance is key and I promise to be a very happy and more ethical girl this year.
P.S. in desperate need of a new camera (can’t stand the noise – pun intended)
